FireBirds is our introductory theatre group for children aged 4–10 and the perfect place to begin their journey with Staged.
Through acting, singing, theatre games and creative activities, children learn the basics of theatre while having fun, making friends and growing in confidence.
What happens at FIREBIRDS?
FireBirds introduces children to the foundations of theatre through play, creativity and performance.
Sessions include acting and theatre games, singing, movement, character work and rehearsals. Children learn how to use their voice and imagination, work together as a group and become more comfortable performing in front of others.
We don't focus heavily on backstage and technical theatre at this age, but our FireBirds are still encouraged to be creative, share their ideas and have a say in what they make.
Most importantly, there's no pressure. Children can get involved, try new things and develop at their own pace.

Three chances to shine each year
Our FireBirds take part in three showcases each year, giving them the chance to share what they've been learning with their friends and family.
These aren't ticketed productions. They're relaxed, supportive performances designed to give children a positive first experience of being on stage, without the pressure of a full public show.
And there's no additional ticket cost for families.
It's simply a chance for our FireBirds to perform, have fun and be proud of what they've achieved.
A place to grow in confidence
No previous theatre experience is needed. FireBirds is designed to be the place to start.
Some children arrive ready to jump straight onto the stage. Others might be quieter, unsure or need a little more encouragement. Both are absolutely welcome.
We give children the time and support to join in at their own pace, helping them build confidence, develop new skills and discover what they enjoy.
We want theatre to be accessible to everyone. If your child has additional needs or there's anything that would help them take part, please talk to us about how we can support them.
Growing with Staged
FireBirds is the first step in our regular theatre groups.
As children grow in confidence, experience and independence, they can move on to Dance & Drama, where they'll continue developing their skills and have opportunities to take part in larger, ticketed productions.
There's no rush to move on. Every child develops differently, and we'll help families decide when the time feels right.

When the full term is paid in advance
Our discounted term rate rewards regular commitment and helps us plan effectively for rehearsals and productions.
If paying for the term is difficult, please speak to us in confidence. We want to support families wherever we can.
